Charles O'Malley

Europe

Charles O'Malley is Head of Europe at AccountAbility. Charles has worked in the field of sustainability and corporate responsibility for ten years, with a particular focus on sustainability and corporate responsibility as a driver of innovation. Recent clients of his have included Deutsche Telekom, Levi's and Sony. He also has extensive experience of advising early stage social and environmental ventures. He led the project that created and launched the Big Issue's community investment fund. He has run a conference for social entrepreneurs and has organised and facilitated numerous networking and learning events within the corporate responsibility, sustainability and responsible investing markets.

Charles previously worked in audit, investment banking and venture capital for PwC, Deloitte and HSBC. He was educated at Oxford and Harvard Universities and has an MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice from Bath University. In 2008 he was listed as one of 'London's Most Influential People' in the environment sector and his activities have been featured by CNBC and the Financial Times. He is a contributing author in the book Leadership for Sustainability.

Charles recently ran the London Marathon following a ridiculously limited training programme and is still trying to figure out how to fit in regular exercise with the needs of his job and a young family. Most surprising fact about Charles: that he was vice captain of the Oxford University boxing team.
