The Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index aims to assemble a critical mass of companies to promote social development in the Kingdom. It is a multi-year initiative by The Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), the King Khalid Foundation and AccountAbility. Companies of all sizes are invited to join this initiative and the three strongest performers receive the prestigious King Khalid Award for Responsible Competitiveness at the Global Competitiveness Forum (www.gcf.org.sa) in January each year.

The Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index was introduced in 2008 and forty companies participated in the first Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index. The inaugural King Khalid Awards for Responsible Competitiveness were won by The National Commercial Bank, Al Fanar and Zamil Industrial.

More information about the initiative, responsible competitiveness in the Kingdom and the winning companies can be found in the report.

Eighty companies, including international brands and local companies, participated in the Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index 2010. Firms were analysed using AccountAbility's Responsible Competitiveness Index(TM) which assesses performance against those areas of corporate responsibility that contribute to firm-level competitiveness. The 2010 King Khalid Awards for Responsible Competitiveness were won by the National Commercial Bank, the National Petrochemical Company and Marafiq, while seven other companies were recognised for strong performances.

More details about the 2010 Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index can be found in the conference report and available on the project website (www.rci.org.sa).
