AccountAbility Advisory Board Member Abdallah S. Jum’ah appointed to Saudi Arabian Airlines Board
Riyadh – New York – AccountAbility is pleased to announce that our Advisory Board Member, Mr. Abdallah S. Jum’ah, has been appointed to the Board of Saudia (Saudi Arabian Airlines) by the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Jum’ah is currently the Chairman of The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB) and Co-Chairman of the U.S. –Saudi Arabian Business Council. From 1995 until December 31, 2008 Mr. Jum’ah served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), the world’s largest oil producing company. While CEO of Saudi Aramco Mr. Jum’ah served on Saudi Aramco’s Board of Directors and on the Saudi Arabian Supreme Council of Petroleum and Mineral Affairs.
In 2007 he was appointed to serve on the supreme committee of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). During his tenure at Saudi Aramco Mr. Jum’ah was director ofAramco Services Company (USA), Saudi Refining, Inc. (USA), Saudi Petroleum International, Inc. (USA), Motiva Enterprises (USA), S-Oil Corporation (Korea), Petron Corporation (Philippines), Motor Oil (Hellas) Corinth Refineries S.A. (Greece) and Chairman of Vela International Marine Ltd.
Mr. Jum’ah studied at the American University in Cairo (AUC), the American University of Beirutand completed the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. From 1998to February 2013 he served as a member of the Board of Trustees of AUC. From 2007 to 2009 he served as Vice Chairman of the International Advisory Board of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). His worldwide business affiliations include his former memberships of Halliburton Company board, JPMorgan Chase International Advisory Council, Schlumberger Business Consulting Advisory Board and the Reliance International Advisory Board. Since July 2009 Mr. Jum’ah has served as a member of the MIT Corporation Visiting Committee for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Jum’ah is also a former member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, and he was Patron of the IFP School, Paris for the school year 2008-2009.
He is a member of Zamil Industries Board, the Economic Cities Authority Board and Hassana Investment Company Board. Mr. Jum’ah is a former member of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Economic Council’s Advisory Committee.
