AccountAbility partners with its members to advance its mission and support member organizations’ strategic goals through research on global policy issues, program consultations on regional responsible competitiveness, standards revision engagements, advisory services, and peer to peer networking and learning events.

Members can participate in AccountAbility’s governance by electing half of the governing Council, and therefore shape the organisation’s strategy.
AccountAbility is a trusted broker between civil society organizations, the public and private sectors. In that quality we have promoted accountable and responsible organizations. AccountAbility has helped organizations design their corporate citizenship strategies, engage stakeholders and report sustainability performance. We have helped organizations develop products and services for underserved demographics in emerging markets.
Additionally we have worked with leading civil society organizations to develop standards for human rights, governance systems to support global partnerships for development, advocated for fair labor standards across value chains for a number of commodities and convened forums on public policy issues.
We provide a complete range of Advisory Services related to all aspects of organisational and institutional accountability to meet the challenges of sustainable development, including leadership mentoring and facilitating stakeholder panels.
The AA1000 Series has been used by hundreds of organisations to assure their sustainability reports. You can participate in their ongoing development through the AA1000 Consultations. We also certify training and other opportunities for professional development for assurance practitioners in the use of these standards.
