Membership Spotlight: Pontifical Catholic University of Peru
The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru is one of the twenty-five best universities in Latin America and the only Peruvian university to be listed among the top five-hundred universities in international rankings.
PCUP is an academic community founded on ethical principles and catholic values that creates and disseminates culture, learning and knowledge, promoting change and development. The university envisions to be leader in university education and development, and is committed in the pursuit of truth, respect for human dignity, pluralism, social responsibility and commitment to development, honesty, solidarity, and justice.
PCUP places particular focus on social responsibility and its incorporation as a foundation of the organizational culture of the University, proposing a different and promising manner of action, both within and from a university environment. It seeks to transform the different processes and aspects of university life, basing its action on management that focuses on the reciprocal, sustainable and effective connection between the University and its social and natural environments. Thus, the University not only enriches its processes of generation, transmission and application of skills and knowledge, but also enhances its active and inescapable role in the promotion of sustainable human development.
In this capacity, the University’s Academic Board of Social Responsibility is responsible for designing and promoting Social Responsibility initiatives, and focuses on three areas of work: Training and Academic Research, Social development, and Organizational Development.
