Tariq Buhilaigah is Country Head of Saudi Arabia at AccountAbility.
With more than 12 years of experience across corporate, government, and sovereign institutions, Tariq is recognized for his work insustainability strategy design, ESG performance frameworks, disclosure andreporting, and stakeholder engagement. His cross-sector experience allows himto bridge global best practices with national priorities aligned with Vision2030.
Tariq supports the firm’s advisory practice and strategicgrowth across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. In this role, he oversees key clientpartnerships, market development, and AccountAbility’s presence in the Kingdom,supporting organizations as they advance their sustainability, economicdevelopment, and governance ambitions.
Before joining AccountAbility, Tariq held roles at Riyad Bank, where he designed the Bank’s Corporate Sustainability Strategy and launched the award-recognized Bukra Program; at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, where he supported urban sustainability, research, and socio-economic development initiatives; and at the Public Investment Fund (PIF), where he participated in shaping the Fund’s Sustainability Strategy, developed a sector-specific ESG management Performance Framework across PIF investment sectors, and represented the fund in the development of the Saudi Corporate Sustainability Standard led by the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
Tariq holds a Master’s Degree from IE Business School, is a Climate Reality Leader, and is certified in Corporate Sustainability and Innovation from Harvard University. He began his path in sustainability through undergraduate studies in Chemistry, and conducting research projects between the American University of Beirut and the Florida Institute of Technology focused on environmental and sustainability themes. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at IE University, where he teaches sustainability courses and contributes to programs focused on innovation, impact, and economic development. Tariq is an alumnus of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, where he helped advance youth-led initiatives on sustainability and innovation.
